SPARC wins sustainability award!

Over the past 18 months or so SPARC has been working with an organisation called MERCi ( Manchester Environmental Resource Centre initiative) through their Sustaining Change programme. On the 20th March 2012 James & Lynn from SPARC attended a celebration to mark the end of the Sustaining Change programme and were delighted to receive a Bronze award on behalf of SPARC. This recognises the work SPARC have done in partnership with MERCi to improve the sustainability of the organisation in a range of areas, especially in the garden where we have developed composting & recycling systems.

MERCi also put us in touch with the Hulme Garden Centre, who held a gardening workshop here last year. If you’re in the vicinity of Hulme why not pop along?

We would like to thank MERCi for all their support and wish them well with their future projects.

Great news – well done SPARC!

  2. Lynn says:

Its great that we have won this award. Lots of hard work has taken place particularly setting up the composting and recycling systems. We have also updated our policies and procedures to provide a good foundation for us to work towards greater sustainability in the future.
